Cute Is What We Aim For- Theres A Class For This (Ft. William Beckett)
when i saw Anarbor live with the almost, they sang this song, this is exactly why i respect them so much. Slade said i t was his opinion on the current status of the music business
They tied me up, they stripped me down,
Against the world I’ll stand my ground,
I’ll sell my songs, but not my soul.
They’ll chew you up, they’ll spit you out,
Yeah, follow me, we’ll ride it out,
I’ll sell my songs, but not my soul.
I’ll take dignity over industry,
My wardrobe has never meant shit to me.
I’ll sell my songs, but never my soul,
And what the fuck happened to rock and roll?
I’ve got bruises on my hands and knees,
And a list of failures in between.
Always dirty, I am never clean,
Music is what you hear, and not what you see.
There’s something wrong, this isn’t right,
I make the rules or I’m gone tonight,
I signed the line but didn’t lose control.
They’ll tell you lies right to your eyes,
Before you know, they’ll suck you dry,
I signed the line but didn’t lose control.
We’ve got families and mouths to feed,
I’ll take pride over profit,
And guts over greed.
I signed the line but didn’t lose control,
And what the fuck happened to rock and roll?
I’ve got bruises on my hands and knees,
And a list of failures in between.
Always dirty, I am never clean,
Music is what you hear, and not what you see.
And if there’s one thing left to tell,
It’s that I am being real.
And you should know, yeah you should know
Just how I feel
Oh, just how I feel
You should know, you should know just how I feel.
I’ve got bruises on my hands and knees,
And a list of failures in between.
Always dirty, I am never clean,
Music is what you hear, and not what you…
I’ve got bruises on my hands and knees,
And a list of failures in between.
Always dirty, I am never clean,
Music is what you hear, and not what you…
Music is what you hear, and not what you see
IF YOU’RE FOLLOWING THIS;
you’re a ho.
The Academy Is…-Ghost
This one is for TAI knowitalls ;D
Hey, stop on a dime.
Take both your hands,
reach them above, one at a time.
Are you alone in here?
I heard the voice so clearly.
I tried not to breathe.
Tried not to speak.
Clamping my tongue between my teeth.
Are you alone in here?
I heard the voice so clearly say,
Well, there are fine lines I’ve seen we are stuck in between.
With separate eyes to use and throw us our lie.
How we die, nobody wants to know.
Who decides, well, everybody goes.
Well, everybody goes.
Oh, no, this can’t be it.
I start to sweat.
Haunted by all the things I’ve missed.
This can’t be right.
I realize right then that it’s me or him, yeah.
There are fine lines I’ve seen we are stuck in between.
With separate eyes to use and throw us our lie.
How we die, nobody has to know.
Who decides, well, everybody goes.
Well, everybody goes.
(What if I don’t?)
Oh, no, I can’t believe this.
I don’t know why this had to happen.
I had no choice.
Well, it was me or him.
There’s a fine line between what is justified or just obscene.
Fragile lines to use and throw us our lie.
How to die, nobody wants to know.
Who decides, well, everybody goes.
How we die, no, I will never know.
Who decides, well, everybody goes.
Who decides, well, everybody goes.
LOST IN PACIFIC TIME, THE ACADEMY IS…
Yo, so I just illegally downloaded Lost in Pacific Time, TAI’s new EP.
When I listen to new albums, I really try to go into it with an open mind, even though I tend to fail, but I did succeed with this one.
I can honestly say, I enjoyed “I’m yours tonight” the most, I find it to be really adorable. Is so catchy xD and not in a ‘About a Girl’ way, there’s just as much content in the chorus as there is in a verse. No, I lied. It is like about a girl, but not really. I mean, the way the songs written with the hook and such is like about a girl, but its lyrically, a step up. I DON’T KNOW. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM ME?!
“Days Like Masquerade”, ehh, I don’t really care for it much, I like the bass line. Its like Seed, it wasn’t bad, but it was just kind of these.
I dislike “Sputter”, it bothers me.
“New York (Saint In the City”, the intro catches my attention, because TAI songs don’t tend to start off with guitar riffs. “Lost in pacific time” IS A LITTLE TOO REMINSICENT TO “LOST IN STEREO” FOR ME. Nothing personal. This song could of totally came after “The Test” on FT@BH. It isn’t all that special. I mean, again, its good, but its just another eh song.
“In the Rearview”, I like it when I listen to it, but Its not anything special.
OKAY, WELL THATS ALL I GOT.
I give it a 3.5/5 souley because non of the songs on the album are terrible, I mean, I really dislike Sputter, I’m not going to go on a rampage about it, but non of the songs are all that memorable for me.
:/
Nothing personal

P.S. WILLIAM BECKETT HAS A KID.
YEAH.
TRUFAX.
The Phrase That Pays (Nashville Version) - The Academy Is…
I may have rebought this EP for only this song. MM. soo good.
hold your head high heavy heartI just think its amazing
beautiful
The Academy Is… - Sputter
It’s intricate. It starts questioning, and telling you the things going on. As if it were a directed movie. A movie that has some incredible graphics.
The Academy Is has never failed to interest me in their music. (Except for that one song… that kinda bothered me… cough. Ha. I’m not going to share my prejudices though.) The song carries a delicate mixture of what Santi had. How it had this intricacy with lyrics, that made you think… but it carries what I feel, brings things back into Fast Times. I think the way that William’s voice has grown seems to show his maturity in the music, and it’s so incredibly visible. To me, anyway.
In this song, there is the lyric that goes “You know it’s alright, you’re stepping on the cracks, and you feel fine.” Coming from my own personal feelings here (I’m getting deep with this song…) I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life. I really have, and I know that. I don’t dwell on the past. But as a child, I was always the one that skipped over the cracks, due to the “Step on a crack, break your mother’s back” saying. I grew out of that superstition as I got older, as most kids do. But, when I got older, and I would sit on the sidewalk outside of my house, I wondered… what if the cracks in the sidewalk represented something? I mean, I had seen them fix the sidewalk, but why couldn’t they just fill it like asphalt? Why did it have to have cracks in it? Why couldn’t it just be straight out, and not have cracks? And that’s when I would notice it had cracks in it, not just because it was easier to refill if it broke, but because the weeds could grow through it. But they were weeds… they grew so fast, and then, once they would reach the surface, after breaking through the cement, and taking so much time… they died… they would “Sputter out.”
Maybe it’s just my take on the song, but I get so much more of a depth from this song than I’m probably supposed to.As I said in the beginning though, how this song is a directed film… I feel that the moment people might listen to this, they get a serious feeling deep down… I know I do.
…
I know, this was more of a rant of my opinions, and life, but I think it’s okay.
The song is amazing. Light, airy, but makes you think, with the incredible piano in the back, the drumming carrying out a complete pattern the entire time. The lyrics make the song, but the music itself shares the feeling of the song. With what sounds like a shaker in the back of the music for majority of the song, I can’t help but feel like the song is going somewhere.
I shared. You share.
Tell me what YOU think the song shares.

so apparently william becketts kid is real…
Im really happy for him actually. I kind of knew it all along, and all I want to say is congrats Daddy Becky, baby Becky will be beautiful. I don’t really know why you kept it from us for so long, when, we would never do a thing to hurt her, or anything. Actually, I love kind of the kid already, just cause she’s a tiny piece of you . :] -caro
